Hey Everyone,
For those that haven't got the latest news from Combat Arm's page... as you know I have been monitoring the news closely. I have also been updating the posts as soon as they become available (thus the so many updates yesterday). I am sure you were frustrated (as was I). Again, Combat Arms has decided to issue another letter of apology to the CA Community.
Two things we know for certain (they're still trying to isolate the incident), so you may still experience difficulties when you log into your account. If that is the case, you will find the link below where to connect to Nexon's forums, to submit your issue. The other, is that Combat Arms is up and you may be able to play.
I would also like to note, earlier today CA released an update that stated the Assault Vest Sale would be extended until Tuesday, but in this new "update" they are extending it to Wednesday. So just a heads up - if you were looking to purchase this item (be safe rather then sorry, and purchase it ASAP before it disappears) and don't wait until the last minute.
I have enclosed the newest update, to include 100% EXP, and GP boosts for FRIDAY (February 3rd) ONLY! Also 3x's Gridiron Badges Feb. 2nd - 5th! So be sure to mark your calendar for this weekend!

Dear Combat Arms Players,
Over the past week, Combat Arms has been experiencing issues with game stability and login. Since then, our teams have been working around the clock investigating the issue and have made a great deal of progress in identifying the cause. We decided to bring the game down over the weekend to isolate and address the issue. This was not an easy decision. We care a great deal about the game and its community and we knew how difficult this would be for all our players.
Combat Arms is now open, and we are continuing to monitor the game very closely until the problem is fully resolved.
We understand that this explanation doesn’t begin to compensate you for the lost time and frustration you have experienced during this period. For that, we sincerely apologize and would like to offer Combat Arms players the following:
Any purchased items currently in your inventory have already had their duration times extended by 24 hours.
From Thursday to Sunday, February 2 – 5, 2012, Gridiron Warfare login event will give three badges instead of one.
This Friday, February 3, 2012, we will be offering 100% EXP and GP bonuses on all servers.
The Permanent Assault Vest Sale is being extended through Wednesday.
As we monitor the game and work to resolve these issues, you can help by immediately reporting any login or connection difficulties you have on this special forum thread

My birthday went out with a BANG!
On a side note I would like to thank everyone who participated. I know it was a little hectic without having Vivox, but overall I think the different game modes was a success. My only regret was I wished the (killset was higher for the pistol, and melee only event). But we will get it handled for the NEXT time!
In the future, I expect to start a couple of polls on this blog to further enhance YOUR gaming experience, and to find out overall just what YOU want for Events (Game Modes) and Prizing! So be on the lookout....

A Hotfix has been applied to Combat Arms to perform the following bug fixes:
Vivox Voice Chat will now properly detect plugged-in headsets.The Mode listing in Quick Start will no longer corrupt after selecting a Game Mode.
Improved the selection process for popular Quick Start searches.
The third person models of the Red and Gold Ninjato are properly textured.
The Relentless Ability description has been corrected.
The Parting Gift Ability description has been corrected.
Searching for a Clan match via Quick Start now properly places you into a valid match.
Known issues:
If a player has Map or Mode settings in their Custom Quick Start settings, Default Quick Start will erroneously still respect those settings. If you have difficulties with Default Quick Start, please ensure that both Map and Mode in Custom Quick Start are set to "Any".- Rewards for the first half of Gridiron Warfare have been distributed! Keep on going, you have until February 5th to collect the badges for the next round of prizes!

Attention, Soldiers!
Are you ready for some carnage? From January 19 – February 5, 2012, “throwing the bomb” will take on a whole new meaning in Combat Arms. Combat Arms Command is celebrating the strategy, grace, and mind-blowing violence of football with our very own “Gridiron Warfare” event.
How to Participate
Between January 19 and February 5, 2012, be on the lookout for “Gridiron Badges.” These coin-shaped badges will be dispersed in various ways throughout the game. Here’s where you can pick them up:
- One badge: Log in every day during the event.
- One badge: Complete your first Daily Job every day of the event.
- Five badges: Complete your second Daily Job in one day.
- Fifteen badges: Complete your third Daily Job in one day.
- One or three badges: Spin the Roulette wheel after a match.
Bonus: On February 3-5, completing three Daily Jobs will net 45 badges!
On Friday, January 27 and Monday, February 6, we’ll check out your score and award prizes based on how many badges you’ve managed to collect. Keep those badges in your inventory!
- 50 Gridiron Badges: 7-day Gridiron Guard
- 70 Gridiron Badges: 30-day Gridiron Guard
- 80 Gridiron Badges: 1-day Azazel and a 30-day Gridiron Guard
- 100 Gridiron Badges: 7-day Azazel and 30-day Gridiron Guard
- 400 Gridiron Badges: 30-day Azazel, 30-day Gridiron Guard and 7-day Gridiron Grenade
- 1000 Gridiron Badges: 90-day Azazel, 90-day Gridiron Guard and 90-day Gridiron Grenade
Gridiron Guard: 60% headshot protection,5% sprint stamina, 3% speed boost.
Gridiron Grenade: When they tell you to "throw the long bomb" this is what they mean.
Catch the Ball!
During this event, Black and Gray HiSec cases are going away. Don’t panic though, because you’ll be able to catch gold and silver footballs for the same awesome prizes!
Silver footballs have the same prize list as Gray HiSec cases and gold footballs will give out the same goodies as Black HiSec cases. The only difference is that the Gridiron Guard and the Gridiron Grenade can also be retrieved from them!
Note: Silver footballs are opened used Gray HiSec keys. Gold Footballs are opened using Black HiSec keys.

Not good enough? How would you like to take some real-world prizes home for winning Gridiron Warfare? The 15 players with the most Gridiron Badges at the end of the event will receive the following:

This is it. This is the break we’ve been waiting for. January’s game update is sending you into battle against our most dangerous enemy, the Nemexis corporation. Check out the “Belly of the Beast” to see what’s in store for you. Naturally we wouldn’t send you into battle without the best firepower we could find. That’s why we’ve approved a new NX weapon, a new GP weapon and a number of deadly little goodies available in Bubba Ares’ Gun Emporium. If that’s not enough, you can always get yourself a MYST-Kilo and see if you can nab a new Epic Assault Rifle. There’s all kinds of awesome things to shoot and shoot at in the Belly of the Beast update!

New Fireteam Map: Nemexis HQ
The battle for victory sends you into battle against many foes, but no one has dogged our footsteps more than the vicious Nemexis Corporation. Nemexis has committed atrocities beyond your worst nightmares, and their reign of terror must end. Enter Nemexis HQ and try to eradicate Nemexis once and for all!
New Feature: Quick Start
Create your own personal Are you a Fireteam junkie? Can’t get enough of Quarantine? Love Junk Flea? You’re going to love the new Combat Arms Quick Start feature. Quick Start lets you quickly find matches with just the click of a button.
By selecting High, Low or None for Rank, KDR, EXP or GP rate, your search will give a priority for those servers. Want to avoid playing with the best? Select “Low” for Rank and your search will avoid Bravo! Want to max out your EXP? Select “High” for EXP Rate, and your search will go through Black Market and Bravo before even looking at Golf!
Additionally, you can search for any map and game mode available in Combat Arms. Have a hankering for some Dark Forest Seize and Secure action? Your ideal match is just one click away!
Give it a whirl and let us know what you think. Quick Start will be improved over the coming months, so we want to know how to make it even more useful to you!
New Abilities
Taking on Nemexis is no easy feat. You’re going to need that extra edge, and R&D has come through with some powerful abilities to aid you in the fight! Only catch is, these abilities are too powerful to be stored in one Ability Slot, and you’re not getting these for free, either. These Abilities can only be received by completing Daily Jobs, so get a move on!
Parting Gift: With this ability equipped, you will drop a small grenade at your feet when you’re taken down. It’s not as powerful as the M67 Frag Grenade, but it’ll finish your foe off easily enough!Note: Requires two open ability slots to equip. Does not function in Quarantine Regen or any match where explosives are restricted.
Spoils of War: Nothing wrong with a little plunder! Take any weapon that some foolhardy soldier has dropped and turn it into some quick GP. Be careful, though, you’re going to be a sitting duck when this is going on.Note: 10 GP per weapon, can only be used 10 times per match. Requires two open ability slots to equip.
Opportunist: Don’t like the gun your foe dropped, but you know he’s got something better stashed away? This Ability will open up a dead player’s backpack and drop one of the weapons stored there! You have 10 seconds to pick it up before it becomes fair game, so no time to dally!Note: Requires two open ability slots to equip.
Relentless: Death just got a lot cheaper. Having this ability equipped will decrease your respawn time, getting you back in the fight even faster!Note: Does not function in Elim Pro, Search and Destroy, Fireteam, Quarantine Regen or Last Man Standing. Requires three open ability slots to equip.
New Supply Crate
MYST-Juliet
The MYST-Kilo has just been authorized for release! This case is full of permanent and NX-rare weapons, including a brand new Epic – Deckland's F2000 Tactical

New NX Weapon
The MK14 Mod 0 is an assault rifle based on the venerable M14. When the US Navy Seals needed a lighter and more compact version of the classic assault rifle, the result was this deadly beauty. The MK14 Mod 0 is made of lightweight aircraft alloy and is perfect for special operations and quick assault missions, but can operate in any combat scenario. Permanent only available for a limited time!
New GP Weapon
The Tango 51 is a new tactical firing rifle designed from the ground up to emphasize bullet alignment and precision engineering. That means that it’s an incredibly accurate firearm suitable for any sniper’s needs.
Bubba Ares’ Gun Emporium Updates
Bubba Ares obviously never sleeps because there are all sorts of deadly goodies coming out of the Gun Emporium this month.
New Forge Weapons
The STG-44 is considered the first modern assault rifle and was first deployed in Germany in 1944. It filled in a defensive hole between the smaller submachine guns that didn’t have effective range and the larger machine guns that were too heavy to be effectively carried by more than one man in a squad.
A German air-cooled machine gun first deployed in 1935 and widely considered one of the best of the early machine guns. It was one of the first dual-purpose guns that could be fed from a drum for single-person use or via a belt as an infantry support weapon.
New Upgradable Weapons
Little things can mean a lot. Bubba installed a fast-action trigger and a high-speed scope that allows for a faster firing rate and faster targeting. Hold on to this beauty if Bubba lets you get your mitts on it!
Bug Fixes and Other Changes
- Galil ACE and ParaFAL are now the correct size in first person view.
- Equipped Abilities are now visible while dead.
- Fixed a clipping issue with the FAMAE S.A.F.
- Compensation distributed to players that logged in for the Hot Shot 3 event but did not receive rewards.
- Compensation distributed to players that purchased Black HiSec Keys during the HiSec Event but did not receive free keys.
- Compensation distributed to players that purchased Supply Crate MYSTs during the Best of 2011 Sale but did not receive free Supply Crates.
Known Issues
- The Parting Gift ability erroneously warns that it is not functional in several game modes. It should only be non-functional in Quarantine Regen.
- The rewards for Nemexis HQ do not appear correct in third person perspective.
- The Relentless ability's description does not include that the ability functions in Hired Guns.
- Selecting a Mode in Quick Start will prevent players from later selecting Any Mode. This can be reset by changing the "Server" setting in Quick Start.
