Attention Soldiers

Combat Arms is hitting its Second Wind, and we're greeting any players that have been gone for a while with open arms!
Any player that has returned after 60 days without logging in will be greeted with a brand new Comeback Case, which contains one of each of the following:
  • 7 Day NX-Standard Assault Rifle
  • 7 Day NX-Standard Sniper Rifle or Submachine Gun
  • 7 Day NX Vest, Mercernary or Specialist Character
  • 7 Day NX Backpack, Specialist Backpack License or Specialist 2-Slot License
  • 7 Day Function Item
With a potential value of NX 18,300, you'll be sure to hit the ground running, taking out the enemy in style! It's the perfect time to return to Combat Arms and go once more unto the breach!
--Combat Arms Command--

Attention Soldiers,

There's a lot of changes that have come to Combat Arms this month, and so while we gave the big changes center stage with the Update Notes, here's everything else that's been changed with the game!

Game Improvements

  • Shop and Inventory Image View: By clicking on the icon in the top-left of the Shop, Black Market, Inventory, Inbox, Shopping Cart, Cosmetic Shop and Inventory, you will be able to browse any of these lists by their images, and not like a spreadsheet! It's sure to make it a lot easier to find the gun you want, or to make browsing things easier.
  • Ignore List: Tired of someone's QQ? Now you can block all of their messages from coming to you with the new Ignore feature!
    • In the lobby? Right-click on their name and select "Block" to add them to your Ignore list! When you forgive them, you can just right click on their name again and select "UnBlock" to clear them from your ignore list!
    • You can also view the Ignore List and add or remove players from it by going to the Options menu and selecting "Other"!
    • Are you in-game? You can add players to the Ignore List by typing into chat "/block (Name)", and remove players from the Ignore List with "/clear (Name)".
  • Chat Name Selection: As you might have noticed above? Player names in the chat window can now be clicked, with the same effects as if you had right-clicked them in the "Users Online" window!

  • Room Filtering: Tired of scanning dozens of full or locked rooms when trying to find a match? Just click on the drop-down menu in the Game Lobby labeled Room Filter and Filter them out!
    • Joinable: Filters out any matches that cannot be joined, either because it is full, the match is ending or "Join Mid Combat" has been disabled.

    • No Password: Filters out any game rooms that are locked by a password.
  • Base Ammo Counts: When you select a Primary or Secondary weapon in the shop or inventory, the ammo count for that weapon is now displayed below the recoil in the format: (Base Magazine Size) / (Total Ammo).

  • In-Game Recording Info: When using the in-game recorder, the following information has been added: Remaining Storage Space, Recording Quality and Recording Frames per Second. Additionally, the default Recording Quality has been changed to "YouTube HD".
  • Alphabetized Map Listing: The list of maps is now ordered by alphabetical order, instead of in order of when they were added to Combat Arms!

  • Character Creation Date: The day you created your character is now located in the Character Information screen! This information is only visible to you, other players will not be able to see it.

  • Item Deletion Warning: To reduce the likelihood of accidentally deleting a valued item, you will now be prompted to type "delete" into a text field as confirmation. (This does not affect GP Sellback)

Known Issues

  • The "No Password" Room Filter will not hide newly created, password-locked game rooms
  • If you Ignore a member of your clan from regular chat, they will still be able to chat with you via Clan Chat unless they are blocked from there. To manually block them, if their character name is NAME, use /block (clan)NAME.

Miss part 1? Check it out here!
How's it going? I finally get to say my hellos to everyone through this developer blog.
I am Desperado, the Planner for the Combat Arms team.
I'm here to tell you about the Usability Revamps that are being added in October.
The purpose of the Usability Revamps at this time is to review the overall usability of Combat Arms and provide better information to the users, along with making improvements.
The revamps are mainly small changes to new information that is being added. Also, these revamps were made using the suggestions users have made through various channels and internal research.
The small changes include Wait Room List filtering, map list re-ordering, and a safety measure for item deletion.
To explain, the Wait Room Filtering will include filters for rooms available for play, and things like Wait Rooms without passwords and such. These options can be used to sort the Wait Room list to find and connect to a room faster.
Currently, the Map List in the Wait Room is arranged according to the time it was added, so it makes it difficult to find the maps you want. To help this situation, changes has been made to put the map list in alphabetical order. So, if you know the name of the map you are looking for, it will be easier to find.
Lastly, when an item in possession is deleted now, a notification is shown but one wrong click can cost you an item you want to keep. So, as a safety measure against item deletion, we are implementing a check where a special phrase has to be entered to delete an item.
Although the above changes were very small, we took into consideration many suggestions and lots of research to make sure these changes would not hinder any smooth game play.
For a larger change, we are adding a User Blacklist and Shop/Inventory List Method changes.
For the User Blacklist, we have added this to take measures against adverse effects of communication.
We know there are times when someone will continue to pour on insults or take actions that make things uncomfortable for you unrelated to game play. So, a Blacklist has been added to the Other Tab in the Options so that people who bother you can be managed by yourself and communications from those people can be blocked off.
We made it possible to add or remove users through a user click menu or through a chat command.
Lastly, there is a change coming to the Shop/Inventory List. Several hundred items are currently being sold in Combat Arms. So the Combat Arms UI is presented to the users as a list based on text to make it easier to look at the items.
Of course when clicked, item information is provided in a separate detailed space towards the bottom. I know there are users out there who want to see the items as an image without a click on the text, so that they can see it right away. So both the text and image methods will be provided with an option for user to select what they like.
The above information is only part of the revamp and more information will be provided in the patch.
The Combat Arms team is always working hard to collect the suggestions of our users and we hope that this revamp will make the game easier to get into.
Thank you.

....annnnnnd we're BACK!!

Sorry for the delay folks, but sometimes real life calls us away from the gaming world.
Not that we didn't miss you all.

I (Charm) will be continuing my reign at the wheel helm here, to offer you updates and resume our weekly NX events at the LCA Website. We hope you all had a fantastic Columbus Day (with the Bonus Boosts....oh we're jealous of you guys!)

Fud and I, are currently updating the website theme (which you should notice). How could we ever forget about Halloween?!?! It's practically MY favorite holiday! I will also be updating the Blog theme sometime this week. I haven't had time to sit down and design a (newer) one for this year so it will be the very 1st banner made for LCA. (since LCA's anniversary is officially October 18th!).

P.S.
Who's ready for some spooky zombies? I am... I am!!

See you in the battlefields...

Attention Soldiers,

As you may be aware, the Daily Jobs have not been properly functioning in Combat Arms. On some servers, the correct Daily Jobs will display but cannot be completed, while other servers will display the wrong Daily Jobs entirely. We do apologize for this problem.
Our developers are currently working on a fix for these issues, which we intend to be released within the next week. However, in order to stop any server-side issues that could crop up as a result of the errors, we have elected to disable the Daily Jobs until the Hotfix is deployed.
As for the Workaholic event, we will be adjusting the time frame for the rounds based on when Daily Jobs regain functionality for all players.
We apologize for the inconvenience, and will update you when we have more information.
Thank you,
--Combat Arms Command--

Operation: Contract Killer is Underway!

Make sure those weapons are clean, because Daily Jobs are back, and NPCs need you to do their dirty work for them! Being a contract killer does have its benefits. Cosmetic Items have also arrived to change the appearance of your favorite gear. You no longer have to choose between looks and stats – now you can have both!
If your arsenal is looking a little sparse, check out the reliable QBZ-95 Assault Rifle, the beefed-up Mac-10 SE Submachine Gun, and the Forgeable MP40. See everything Operation: Contract Killer has to offer below!

Daily Jobs Revamp

Daily Jobs have been revamped and reintroduced. Various NPCs need your assistance, and you’ll be able to complete jobs for them in exchange for rewards. The jobs you take are now entirely up to you. The shady characters offering these jobs want to keep the blood off their hands, but that should be no concern for you.

Cosmetic Items

It’s always been hard to strike the perfect balance between form and function, but with new Cosmetic Items, you’ll be able to customize your items to look great and perform well at the same time! Cosmetic Items provide a new look without altering your items’ stats, or even just hides the item from view altogether. If you’ve got some great gear that just doesn’t have that badass look you’re going for, use Cosmetic Items to bring it up to your standards.

Each Cosmetic item has three colors to it, although you can only own one of them at a time. There are also four other Cosmetic items: Transparent Headgear, Transparent Facemask, Transparent Backpack and Full Transparency. Each of these Cosmetic items will hide the designated slot, with Full Transparency hiding all equipped gear

The MP40 was the submachine gun of choice in Germany during World War 2. Also known as the Schmeisser, it is a reliable workhorse on the battlefield. Forged from 7x FH - Replica Pallets and the MAC-10.

Other Changes

Bug Fixes
  • Spawn points and goals are no longer corrupted when playing Seize and Secure on Kill Creek.
  • Fireteam Matches now block intended grenades (Smoke\Flash) and allow useful grenades (Gas\Incendiary).
  • Goal setting for rooms no longer resets to default if the map is changed.
  • The map Vertigo has been modified to address performance concerns.

  • The map Dark Forest has been modified to address performance concerns.
  • The map Oil Rig (in Quarantine Regen only) has been modified to address performance concerns.
  • Corrected text issue for map\mode information when loading into One Man Army on Showdown.
  • Corrected alignment of suppressors attached to G18 Pistol.

  • Removed unintended gap of time at beginning of Magpul FMG-9's reload sequence.
  • Magpul FMG-9 damage stat has been reduced to match in-game performance. The actual damage of the Magpul FMG-9 has not changed.
  • HP now changes to red 'alert' status at 30 HP instead of 3 HP while piloting a robot in NEMEXIS Labs.
Balance Changes
  • Corrected Galil ACE damage in-game not being high enough to match damage stat in shop.
Other Game Changes
  • Quick Start reduced to only vital search functions for better odds of successfull matches.
  • Squirt Gun no longer Forgable; use Roulette to turn Battery FH materials into Battery Pallets and forge the Alien Gun!
  • MYST-G Updated to include the new Mac-10 SE.
  • Melee attacks will now play pain sound FX when an attack strikes another player.

You’ve got to ask yourself one question: “Do I feel lucky?” Well, do ya, soldier? Then...

Set your sight on epic items like the permanent Orthus, Legion, Azazel—even 1 million GP, and pull the trigger on Soldier’s Fortune to watch it reveal your three prizes.
Happy with what you won? Then test your fortune further and try the Double Shot
Double Shot will double one of the three items you won. But Soldier’s Fortune will decide which of the three items will be doubled.

Here’s how you use the Soldier’s Fortune:

1. Click the "Shoot" button. If you are not logged in, the login window will pop up.
2. If you do not have any Shots, you will be asked to purchase either 1 or 11 Shots.
3. Like the items you won? Purchase the optional Double Shot for 1,100 NX to get a double of one of those three items. But the Soldier’s Fortune will decide which one of your items is doubled!
4. Log into the game and check your inbox to see your winnings.

Important Notes:

1. You must have a Combat Arms character to play. Or else who would claim the winnings?
2. Shots cannot be traded or gifted. The items you win cannot be traded or gifted.
3. To purchase a Double Shot, you must have at least 1,100 NX in your NX balance. Even if you have Shots left, if you do not have 1,100 NX in your NX balance, you will not be able to take the Double Shot.

From the Combat Arms Development Team:

After the Daily Job update last May, we received a lot of helpful feedback from players, allowing us to pinpoint areas of the system that needed to be fine-tuned. After all the feedback, we decided to remove Daily Jobs for a few months to polish the entire system and work on adding more interesting jobs.
Now that September has arrived, it’s about time for the new and improved Daily Jobs system to return!
Let's take a look at the improvements you can expect to see in the upcoming patch:

System Improvements:

We realize that allowing only 1 set of Daily Jobs may have felt restrictive, so we’ve removed the daily limit entirely!
Multiple Daily Jobs will be provided, and users will be able to choose the jobs they want to take on from the list. In addition to 3-Step Consecutive Daily Jobs, the new system will also provide one-time jobs with only one step. The only restriction is that players can only take on one job at a time.
We’re also adding a Daily Job pop-up menu to make it easier to find available Daily Jobs for the day when you log in. This menu can be turned off if you find it obtrusive.

General UI Improvements:

With the addition of our lovely new job operator, we've streamlined the interface and removed some unnecessary features.
The three job categories will remain the same: "Available," "Current," and "Completed." Click each tab to review the details and rewards associated with your jobs.

Enhanced Scenarios:

The New Job Operator serves as your secretary, managing not only your Daily Jobs, but all of your Jobs. Clients who wish to hire you will send a request message, and you’ll be able to accept the Job through the Job Operator.
There will be a variety of interesting clients, and their requests will lead to exciting scenarios.

Cosmetic Item Shop

We're also introducing a new Cosmetic Item Shop.
This is where you can go to customize your character's appearance. Whereas gear items focus on enhancing stats, cosmetic items are solely for looks and setting your character apart from the crowd. When choosing body gear, players often had to decide between looks and functionality, but with Cosmetic Items, you can have both.
It doesn’t matter if your best gear is ugly. Simply equip cosmetic items to give your character a whole new look! With the increased number of choices for customizing gear, Clan leaders will be able to choose clan gear that everyone likes.
Cosmetic items are equipped just like gear. If you like the 7% movement speed boost you get from your helmet slot item but don’t like its look, equip a new cosmetic item in the cosmetic head slot to change its appearance.
Cosmetic Items can also provide a tactical advantage. There are certain times when you’ll want to hide the information and stats of your gear by disguising it with Cosmetic Items.
Check out concept images for some of the new cosmetic items.
All this is coming your way in the September update! Thank you for playing Combat Arms, and enjoy all the newest additions!
See you on the battlefield!
Mr J.

----------------------------

Attention, Soldiers,

Based on the SG556 and rebuilt to meet the needs of a Designated Marksman, the SG556 DMRprovides accurate fire for ranges far beyond a standard infantry rifle. Sporting a sniper's scope and increased barrel length, this fully automatic rifle allows a skilled marksman to suppress crowds of hostiles with its 20 round magazine.

Welcome to Operation: Death Row!

It's been a while, but Hired Guns has gotten its second map, the aptly named Death Row! You're not trying to rob a bank this time, now you're going after a cramped, claustrophobic and very crowdedprison, and you're going to need to take control! Need some more firepower? Get your hands on theAEK-971, Combat Arms' latest Assault Rifle, and the elegantly brutal 3 Lb. Sledge! Or go for precision with Hawk's favorite weapon, the Hawk's Dragunov SVDS, or the newly forgeable Lee-Enfield sniper rifle! Check out everything in Operation: Death Row below!

Death Row

A bloody battle breaks out on Death Row as soldiers clamor to secure 5 Control Points that funnel resources onto the battlefield. A touch of chaos enters the fray when both sides use their funds to hire outside mercenaries and construct fortifications. Use your funds wisely and seize the control points to obliterate the enemy!
Objective:
Secure the Control Points scattered around the map to gain more points every second. Funds are distributed periodically to allow your team to hire mercenaries, build turrets, and regain health and ammo to gain the upper hand. Win the match by controlling all 5 Control Points for 60 consecutive seconds or be the first to reach the points goal.

New Supply Crate: Supply Crate MYST-Romeo

Combat Arms Command has just authorized the release of Supply Crate MYST-Romeo! This new Supply Crate is the only way to get your hands on Hawk's Dragunov SVDS, and even better, from now through August 22nd, the MYST-Romeo is 20% off, including the 30x and 50x bundles! Click here for the full contents.

Hailing from Russia, the AEK-971 was designed as a replacement for older AK models, but failed to secure the production contract when the AN-94 came into play. The AEK-971 was still manufactured by peacekeeping forces, and a limited number of the weapons ended up in soldiers’ hands. Available for purchase at the rank of 2nd Lieutenant V.

Part of the WWII replica series, this bolt-action rifle was adopted as the standard issue rifle for the British army in 1895. Despite its age, it is still used today, making it the longest serving bolt-action rifle in the world. It makes up for slightly low damage with excellent accuracy and a snappy fire rate. Requires an M24 and 7x Replica Pallets to forge.

Other Changes

Bug Fixes
  • Updated Kill Creek to help deter glitch abuse during Quarantine Regen matches.
  • Updated Oil Rig to help deter hiding in unintended locations
  • Bombing Run Matches now end properly when the last opponent leaves the match.

  • The "Opportunist" ability is now properly functional.
